Wadi to Peaks: 2-Day Off-Road Experience (2 Days / 1 Night)

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Muscat to Nakhal, where you’ll visit the picturesque Ain Al Thawarah spring and explore the historic Nakhal Fort, perched majestically atop a rocky hill and offering sweeping views of the surrounding palm oasis.

From here, the real thrill begins as we take the off-road route through Wadi Bani Awf, one of Oman’s most dramatic and rugged canyons. With its gravel paths, towering cliffs, and hairpin bends, this adventurous road is a favorite among 4×4 enthusiasts. Enjoy a truly immersive experience of Oman’s untouched wilderness as we climb our way to the mountain villages nestled above the clouds.

By late afternoon, we arrive at the stunning Jabal Shams, Oman’s highest peak, known as the “Grand Canyon of Arabia.” Here, you can relax, take in the fresh mountain air, and enjoy panoramic views that stretch for miles. Overnight stay will be arranged at a mountain resort or at The View, depending on availability.

After breakfast and a relaxed morning checkout, we descend from the mountains and head towards the historic city of Nizwa. Begin your exploration at the lively Nizwa Souq, famous for its traditional handicrafts and silverware, followed by a visit to the iconic Nizwa Fort, one of the most impressive forts in Oman.

Next, we journey to the breathtaking Jabal Akhdar – “The Green Mountain” – renowned for its cooler climate, terraced farms, and rose gardens. Along the way, we stop by Birkat Al Mouz, a lush palm village with ancient irrigation channels (falaj) and picturesque ruins.

As the afternoon fades, we return to Muscat, bringing this unforgettable journey to a close.
